Tafo: KEDA, Bryan commissions 30-bed ultra-modern ward facility

Kwahu East District Assembly together with their Member of Parliament Hon. Bryan Acheampong on Monday commissioned an ultra-modern ward facility for St. Joseph Clinic at Kwahu Tafo to offer comprehensive and better healthcare services for constituents.

The 30-bed capacity facility has offices for senior nurses and doctors on duty, two washrooms, female, male and childrens ward.

Delivering his keynote address Hon. Bryan Acheampong, MP for the area, who commissioned the facility together with District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Agyapong, said the Assembly constructed the facility to take health care to the doorstep of every constituent to avoid obstacles they had to go through to access basic healthcare.

Mr. Acheampong indicated that, the construction of the facility is a fulfillment of a pledge by the Assembly and himself to the people of Tafo, [adding] that their earlier inspection revealed a situation of limited space resulting in delays and avoidable deaths.
He said it was also a way to contribute their quota towards the achievement of universal health coverage across the District.

The commissioning of the new facility, he said, was also to eliminate the no-bed-syndrome being experience in some clinics and hospitals.
District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Agyapong also encouraged both health workers and patients to take good care of the facility and advised the health workers to offer their clients good services and care and asked the community not to take the law into their hands if they felt a health worker went wrong in the administration of his or her duties, but rather report the person to higher authorities.
