Nkwatia, Nkwatia Presby, Nkwatia Information center ‘A’, Nkwatia Information Center ‘B’

Nkwatia Health Center, Market Nkwatia, Orechy Nkwatia, L/A JHS Nkwatia ,St.Peter’s SHS ‘A’

And Nkwatia St.Peter’s SHS ‘B’ and the registered voters for the whole electoral area is about

6841 people.

INSTITUTIONS

In Nkwatia can be found the Presby  Primary and JHS, Catolic Primary and JHS, D/A Primary and JHS, Methodist Primary, St.Peter’s Primary and JHS, Church of Christ Educational Complex,  Premos Int. School and SDA basic schools.

Nkwatia also has the privilege to house one of the topmost Science based Senor High Schools

In Ghana ; the St.Peter’S Senor High School, as well as Nkwatia Presby Senor High School.

It has a functioning Clinic as well and Post Office.

ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES

The inhabitants are mainly farmers. But there is significant trading and artisanal activity also.

Then also the educational and health institutions provide important employment avenues  for the population, directly by way of salaries as direct employees; and indirectly through secondary activities such as trading.

TOURISM

Funerals provide an important tourist attraction, and the availability of hotel accommodation recently boosted by the on-going construction of a multi-purpose hotel project provide the fuel for visits by domestic and international tourist. It also has in the middle of the town a forest used to bury Chiefs.

TRADITIONAL AUTHORITY

Nkwatia is part of the Benkum Division of the Okwahu Traditional Area and is the seat of the Sanaahene of Okwawuman.

It however serves under the Benkumhene whose seat is Aduamoa. The late Nana Atuobi Yiadom IV was the last Nkwatia hene.
