NSMQ winners to receive full undergraduate scholarship from Abetifi MP

Bryan Acheampong, Member of Parliament for Abetifi has offered a full undergraduate scholarship to the winners of the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz to any university of their choice.

Fenny Benjamin and Kissi Annor Kwaku are the beneficiaries of the scholarship.

St. Peters SHS beat West Africa Secondary School (WASS) to become the victors of the science and maths competition.

Aside the money and other packages they received from organizers of the NSMQ for the competition, Fenny and his team members have also received GHS 5000 each from the minister of state in charge of National security.

Mr. Acheampong said:

“I’m not only happy but honoured to know this win is coming from a school in my constituency. The National Science & Maths Quiz is a programme to associate with because it has improved the study of science and maths in Ghana”.

The package offers a 100% scholarship to cover all years of study in the university.

 

Background
St. Peter’s Senior High School in the Eastern Region, has won the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz competition.

The Nkwatia-based school pipped West Africa SHS to the title by a single point after trailing through the first four rounds.

At the end of the contest, St. Peter’s SHS had 45 points, West Africa SHS had 44 points whilst Adisadel College trailed with 39 points.
