Charles Okae bailed after MP’s intervention

The Nkawkaw circuit court has bailed a man in his early 30s who was accused for allegedly killing a fulani herdsman at Hwehwe in the Kwahu East District.
Charles Okae who was arrested by the Nkawkaw Police command for the murder of a fulani herdsman was finally bailed after the intervention of the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Hon. Bryan Acheampong.

The family of Charles Okae led by the mother narrates, their son was arrested 2years ago and has since been in prison Custody awaiting trial. They added that due to financial constraints the family couldn’t afford the assistance of a lawyer.
The family made a passionate appeal to Hon. Bryan Acheampong on one of his usual constituency visits and he took the matter on.
Lawyer Obiri Boahene after few weeks in court managed to get Mr. Okae bailed.

Okae’s family was grateful to the MP for his godly intervention and prayed him to continue till their son is finally freed.

Meanwhile residents of Kwahu in the Eastern Region in April 2016 gave government and their chiefs a one month ultimatum to remove all Fulani herdsmen from the area or they will be forced to do it themselves.

According to them, the destructive activities of the herdsmen are affecting them physically and economically.
